Woven and hand painted silks with custom hand applied trim create this sophisticated pillow with neutral tones, textures and trimmings.
When I was a designer in California, one of my favorite fabric sources for hand painted contemporary silks was a designer named Charlie; this pillow is in honor of his great work. There are three different silks used in the pillow each with a different hand (feeling to the touch). Charlie’s hand painted silk stripe has more texture, the rust leaf silk has woven golden threads and a rich sheen, and the navy blue/rust woven square has a soft feel. Each pillow from Pillow Galleria is a one of a kind piece of art for your home. Pillow Galleria. Atelier for the Home.
A rectangular shaped pillow such as Charlie’s Stripe would be a great addition to a sofa, day bed or bedroom area flanked by smaller pillows on either side or in front for a layered look. Although the stripes are more contemporary don’t be afraid to add this pillow to an eclectic space. Rooms with many different styles create lots of interesting focal points. Good color intensities would be soft with grayed hues. Think soft turquoise, celadon greens, ivories, soft golds, plums, grays and many more options. Go ahead, be creative. Let your imagination run wild. Remember love is in the details.
