Behold!!!! Big, bold and patterned wallcoverings are back. Feel free to use them in any sized space. Consider a small guest bath…use a wild pattern not only on the walls but the ceiling also. Lift a color from the wall pattern for the trim color and maybe the window covering fabric. Many of us have concerns the large pattern will be out of scale for the small space, however the opposite is true. A small pattern creates a sense of warmth when your guest uses this space.
Color Trends
Pantone is the bible of color for every industry in our product world. Pantone shows color trend each season and manufacturers, designers, and paint companies listen to and create their prognostications for the coming season. Living Coral is the color trend for spring 2019. It is the color of underwater reefs, the sky at dusk says Laurie Pressman Pantone’s vice president. She considers this saturated orange base a golden undertone is not only warm and welcoming but are versatile and make us feel good.” Look for new products to have this color choice.
”Upcycling” has become the category for the fashion and interior design industries. However, don’t forget many of us have used the term “repurpose” for a longer period. Regardless of which term you use we are all remembering to think before we toss and use again when we can. Designer Leta Austin Foster tells us “I am a firm believer that you don’t put things in a landfill.” Her motto is “Recycling is good, but reusing is even better.”
